But rarely should such a system be in place in which you can't confirm yourself as the winner, and as such, have it based on trust alone. It's not a good professional way of doing things, and Chribba comes across as someone who does do things in a professional manner.
So to have the lottery alone done through this method is unorthodox. While Chribba may find the method he is currently employing the most efficient and perhaps effective for him, it isn't the most effective for consumers. There are services now available, 3rd party services amongst them, that Chribba could use for his lottery system. I'm not going to give those services free advertisement here, but they utilise Chribba's dice as well, but my point is all their services can be checked.
Far as I'm aware, Chribba is the only biggest lottery currently going that you can't confirm for yourself, and I refuse to believe that it can't be done externally...
Hey, if you can't trust Chribba, who can you trust? As one of the few people in eve capable of running lotteries of this value, Chribba is doing a service to all the players that can't afford such toys as unique ships and motherships. If you don't trust Chribba, and can't accept the lottery based on his word, don't buy the tickets. I for one do trust Chribba, his long history of being the number one third party service in Eve, and for everything he does for the Eve community in general.
One of my corp members has won a Nyx from Chribba, and the last unique ship went to a member of my Alliance. Chribba has one of the longest running lottery systems, I'm not sure of the exact history, but his probably outdate all of the others which claim to be more secure.
tl;dr, when Chribba's name is involved 'trust alone' is more than sufficient.
I think what he's saying is that, even tho Chribba is a trustworthy person, transparency is always welcomed.
